What is it?
At our 2025 Network Retreat, LCC members identified a gap in our understanding of who is currently participating in local seafood retail in Canada, where they operate, and how they get their products to consumers. This map was created as part of a research project exploring these questions and looking to better understand the different pathways that connect local seafood with consumers.
The map showcases seafood harvesters, processors, distributors, and retailers across Canada who are creating more direct connections between local seafood and consumers. Together, these businesses are helping build shorter, more localized seafood supply chains and contributing to local food security.
